Whilst you may of been near the front I was standing at the barrier, everyone around me was either complaining or laughing, and not with them. I'm not sure how you could have got the wrong impression standing so close together but my fellow sufferers shared my opinion. Anyone with a basic understanding of English knows expressions aren't supposed to be taken literally, although since *standing*, it would count as a standing ovation. The cheers from the announcement dwarfed all prior applause.

I saw these guys at the leas cliff hall in folkstone suppoprting the stranglers. they NEED to change their style if they want to sell records because this is a joke. they'd do great if they were a joke-band or something...

sorry, that's just not true and you are talking total crap - I was at Newcastle Academy and they went down pretty well where I was (near the front), judging by the laughs (did you actually hear the lyrics???) and subsequent cheers. Oh, by the way, how the hell can you have a standing ovation in an all standing venue, you utter arse? christ, you got a humour bypass or summat???

Unfortunately I saw these supporting the stranglers on monday in Newcastle. It's the only time I've ever seen a standing ovation when a band said "this is the last song".

I bought their cd at the Stranglers Newcastle Academy gig on monday and basically listened to this very track on repeat play all the way back up the A1 afterwards to Edinburgh - it's totally addictive and a work of genius I tells ya!!! Btw, It's particularly effective to listen to when stuck behind a JCB on a single stretch of road in the countryside at night, particularly when the lights are flashing on the vehicle in front...for some reason it seems to work with the music!
