Capitol 2596. Song has same style in it as the hit side "St. George & The Dragonet". This is the theme sound intro music(minus the spoken word part on this record) for the "Dragnet" TV-crime show series on NBC from 1951 to 1959, and 1967 to 1970.

Recorded with stereo gear on background photo.

I put up the animated "St George And The Dragonet" - this I'd not heard before - cool - particularly liked the door ring at Grandma's house!

Brilliant spoof of Dragnet. It reminds me of Rocky and Bullwinkle's "Fractured Fairy Tales" segment. In fact, I think some of the same voice artists may have been involved.

I had this record when I was a kid. I thought it was hilarious and I played it so many times I wore it out. My friends didn't get it though and thought I was kinda "strange" listening to this. But I loved it! RIP Stan! You made our journey through this life a little easier and a lot more humorous!

God bless Stan Freberg: he was ahead of his time, and never failed to make me laugh whilst listening to my parents comedy records.Little Blue Riding Hood: "But, Grandma, what a big subpeona you have in your pocket."Wednesday: "All the better to serve you with."

RIP Stan Freberg: "This is the woods. My name is Wednesday, I work out of homicide. Monday, February the second, 10:22 am: I bumped into Chicken Licken; told me the sky was fallin'. I booked her on a 614. Turned her over to the psychiatrist. Then, a call came in on a 503. When I was on my way to the 503, a 618 came in; I added up the 614, the 503 and the 618, got 1,735. I handed in my paper to the Chief, he corrected it, gave me 100%, patted me on the head, told me I was a good cop."

My dad use to put this record on some of his Jukebox locations. It was very popular as a Spoof of Little Red Riding Hood Story. Stan Freberg was great at doing knock off's of Popular Kid's Tales with the Dragnet Theme behind it. The B side of this 45 was ST. George and the Dragonet which some think was better than this Spoof....

My father bought this when It first came out. I think I was about 4yrs. The very first time I heard it, it scared the crap out of me because I thought they were coming to arrest my "grandma". She was such a cranky old bag I was disappointed when they didn't come for her. Thank You so much for playing this!!!

No, you played the file; HE played the hunch. Didn't Lon Chaney play the Hunch? (Back of Notre Dame?) Quasimodo as Touchdown Jesus!

What you are listening to is the 11th take... they blew the first ten because the musicians, who were the same Hollywood studio cats who worked on the real Dragnet radio show, hadn't seen the script before the session and were laughing so hard they couldn't pucker up to blow their trumpets.
