I remember one guy was comparing Staind's first album Tormented to Creed's first album My Own Prison. I was like, ''How can you compare both albums, one is a heavy metal record with screaming and guitar solos and the other one is a radio-friendly post-grunge record that has solos but no screaming there. Staind is one of the most famous post-grunge bands and as well as nu metal because dysfunction and break the cycle were both nu metal and some post-grunge but in my opinion, this album is the answer to Nickelback's first album Curb. Curb was released in 1996 the same year as TORMENTED. Nickelback Curb was independently and had shit production and as well as raw production, the same with Tormented. Also, both albums are underground. The only difference between Curb and Tormented is that one is a raw Grunge record, the other one is a raw Metal record. Both have solos and Tormented has screaming and Curb has a yelling-screaming kind of thing, similar to those of Nirvana Kurt Cobain's first album Bleach. Also both bands would gained massive success especially in 2001-2002. I see a lot of similarities between both bands but in my opinion, Nickelback late 2000s stuff was complete garbage. Dark horse was crap compared to Staind The Illusion of Progress. Staind fans hate that record but at least they didn't went into a hard-rock balls and decided to write sex songs about hot asses. I heard both bands toured together in early of 2009, I see a lot of similarities between both bands, only one was nu-metal and post-grunge and the other one was just post-grunge back in the day.

This is how Alice in Chains started out dark and angry. When bands gets so huge and famous they lose their hunger and sell out. I want the old Staind. Aaron Lewis is not on those hard drugs that led to this great music.

the only reason their first cd was so heavy, and htis is from aaron lewis' mouth they were just trying to fit into the boston hardcore scene, the whole cd is about the suicide of a man starting with the track tolerate and ending with four walls. ppl just need to understand he has kids now na dhes grown up and the band has evolved now. if u dont like it, listen to this and not their new stuff.

@cowboy5632 Yeah i know i loved tormented i liked all the albums but i feel like they have forgotten their old school fans i mean they haven't had a genuine hard song for ages i mean it's at a point i'd settle for dysfuction man lol i mean the latest stuff is so soft as much as i liked to see a little more tormented in their music i can't see it happening they say their new album will be alot heavier then the past few so heres to hoping theres a little tormented coming our way lol but i doubt it
