Man you're right. This performance of "Life Without You" was his best. We all know he never played a song the same way twice! Best part is right after his speech. Gives me goosebumps every time. Thanks for the post.

sorry Dan I have to disagree with you. Each to his own, I don't diss your opinion, but IMHO he rushes through this, it's too fast. For me the best version ever is the one from the Mann Music Center in Philadelphia in 1987. I bought the cassette under the bridge at Portobello Market in London in 1988 and it's been a favourite ever since. I'd moved to Paris when Stevie died and the Mann Music Center version of this song this is the song I cried to when I heard. Only time I ever cried about a celebrity's death. BTW, the album title for the SRV compilation 'The Real Deal' is lifted from his LWY sermon from the Mann Music Centre show. Look it up and enjoy, it's here somewhere.
