I knew the BFS version was a cover for the longest time, but only really just listened to this one. I have to say, the only thing the Bowling For Soup has over this is the melody. The lyrics they changed aren't better than this, and in my opinion, everything about this flows a lot better/

The BFS version flows better and has more of a genuine sound to it. The riff on this version is more boring to listen to and too much synth going on. I do however really love this version.

Why did bfs cover this? Both bands are literally the same genre and even somewhat similarish sound.

Both the SR-71 and BFS versions rock but I prefer BFS's version a bit more because it's catchier (because of the woohoohoo) and I love the way it's sung!
