very good! yes i do agree they did do the New Romance thing, they were quite a hard band to peg: pop/pub/punk/new wave/prog/nu romance/folky...amazing group.

your right im aussie,of an age to have experianced pub rock.in fact i was stage roadie for successful bands.what i meant by new romantic is a change in image eg history never repeats. mother goose did the same thing.on noel hes one cool dude, certainly adaptable to any situation.

agreed. at this early stage i hear everything but new romantic example. sparks...didnt think of that. art rocky they were. def beatles british beat groups in general. the move and family were other brit influences.

i dont know about genesis but over their career, ive heard in their music, music hall, swing, sparks, beatles, new romantic although, that couldve been their spin on the image plus themselves whatever the lineup, throw in a couple of steinlagers, youve got split enz.

i agree but the enz denies the influence. i noticed that tim finn was on gabriel's big blue ball album a few yrs back.

It's a live vocal over the top of the 45 rpm White Cloud mix. You can still hear Tim's original leslie-speakered vocal from the record.
