Here I present... the rarely heard Split Enz b-side "Holy Smoke"! The song was recorded during the Luton sessions (prior to their 1979 album Frenzy). I believe it only made a brief appearance on the A&M North American release of Frenzy in 1982 (not an easy find these days) and otherwise wasn't available again until the release of the Rootin Tootin Luton Tapes in 2007. Oddly enough, even that album isn't common to find right now! So I've got my hands on the tune to show here! Enjoy!

I actually had the '82 US version of Frenzy (vinyl). That version of this song is slightly different, but after about 30 years of looking for this song...I'll take this version thanks!

It was the B side for the History Never Repeats 7"single I think published by Mushroom records?

Thanks for the upload! I haven't heard this amazing Neil Finn-penned tune in bloody years! :-)

Thank you for posting. Neil sang a bit if this at the Greek Theatre in LA in 2007, and I had never heard the original. I have it uploaded if interested in hearing it

It might be rarely heard in the wider world, but it is regularly heard in my household. Generally emanating from the shower. Thanks so much for this - I no longer have the cassette tape I wore to ribbons. It confirms I had the tune right though [smug]
