I love this band, and great track! I remember seeing them play live at... I think it was Stramler park. And The Filthies were one of the openers, sometime around the early 2000's. That show is a large part of why I'm still a fan of both bands years later even though neither exist anymore.

Shannon quite singing because she wasn't making enough out of it to support her daughter. I think if she would of keep singing she would of done fine. If I was still roommates with Shannon I probably would of talked her out of quiting. After 10 years of working hard you just don't give up after getting something like a record label but I understand that having a child is expensive. She loved singing since she was a tiny girl and I pushed her often into starting a another band like she had in high school. She was ahead of her time and after the record label I feel like she was right on the edge of making it. I guess some in our family did feel like that. Now she is working in a office doing paper work. Her mom told me she started singing again sometimes at the local clubs in Bakersfield but I don't think any band is forming.

I want to thank you for posting this. I'd hunted down Spike 1000's EPs on eBay and absolutely loved this band. Sadly I got into them right after they seemingly vanished off the face of the Earth. Any chance you'll post the other tracks from the demo? And again, thank you.

Saw Spike 1000 at Swiss Park, when my band opened for them... Also Stephen Carpenter and Chi Che were there supporting Spike 1000 and my drunk teenage ass got to meet them...

I've got the EP that launched before "Waste of Skin" which has older versions of "Manwhore" and "Sucking Spikes" on it. Not sure how good of quality they are, but I'll most certainly check on that when I get a chance and see about uploading those, and I'llm PM you if I do. There is material that dates that EP as well, but the music wasn't anywhere near as refined as you might think it was. I'm glad you dig this track, and I appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment.

holy shit--thanks for uploading this! ive been craving some more spike 1000 since i got the album back around 2003! where can i get the other two. i found one called "favor" on their old myspace but i cant seem to find a way to download it or any other pre-major-label songs/recordings.
