As in 3 hits, 5 hits, 6 hits, 3 hits, 5 hits and then 4 hits all in a 4/4 beat and between each one sexteenth note pause. So if you add everything, including the pauses, you have 32 sexteenth notes. If you divide those by 16 (because there are 16 sexteenth notes in a 4/4 rhythm) you get 2, so all the intervals are in two measures of a 4/4 beat. It's actually simple, I'm just shit at explaining it cause I'm kind of lacking the vocabulary for it. Hope I could help.

Oh sorry. I'm German and didn't know that phrase. But I think, the time signature is actually a simple 4/4 beat (If that is what you mean by time signature). If you count it, the 3 5 6 3 5 4 interval (with the pauses inbetween) fits into the 4/4 beat. A lot of the stuff Meshuggah does as well ends up fitting into a simple beat, just with some freakish intervals and polyrhythms.

I asked what time signature it was, not what intervals they play the 16th notes (though that is still some cool information, don't get me wrong).

As in 3/4, 5/4, 6/4, 3/4, 5/4, and then 4/4?

It's 3 5 6 3 5 4. I already made a comment like this, I didn't think anybody else cared.

I know probably nobody will care, but I wanted to point this out. As I'm a drummer, I love ther rhythm of SOP and always wanted to figure out, what the fuck they were playing at 3:07. So I counted the accents made by rhythm guitar and bassdrum and they are playing sexteen notes in those intervalls, with the guitar changing tone in the interval with the dot after it: 3 5 6 3. 5 4. 3 5 6 3. 5 4. I know it's nerdy, but I can appreciate the song much more when i comprehend and even can drum to that

#1 - Erlend actually has a video of bass sweeping on his YouTube channel. #2 - That's not a bass sweep, he's actually doing hammer-ons and then sliding up the fret board.

I do know that Michael Keene from The Faceless once cited SOP as an influence. Also, I'm not that concerned that Necrophagist is taking 8 million years for one album, because at this point they obviously don't intend on releasing it, and on top of that, Obscura and SOP are actually releasing music regularly...music way the fuck better than Necrophagist, might I add.

I love how they always change times and different riffs with a beastly palm mute. I think muhammed suicmez may have heard this album and given up haha. jk....(is still waiting for new necrophagist)
