The best of "Heart and Soul" is the original record. In Gary, Ind., in 1991 -- as I researched my authorized biography "Goodnight Sweetheart, Goodnight: The Story of the Spaniels" (August Press-1995) -- bass man Gerald Gregory told me he loved it. But he also loved his leads on "Bounce," "So Deep Within," "Jessie Mae" and "Zing." Richard G. Carter
