Music is written by committees now. Too many covers. I am an old fart, but it used to be no self respecting band would play covers much past the garage band stage without bringing a helluva lot to the table. And I think what you are trying to say is that the music is shallow today. Singer/songwriters are rare, as are musicians and poets--and then the "branding" begins with the stylists...10 years ago
