I think the thing about 90s grunge. AiC, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Etc is that these guys were artists before they were performers. They were completely obsessed with the mood, meaning, and message of their lyrics and sound.All times and genres have great artistry and performance, but the 90s grunge movement from the great few was unadulterated, emotional outpour that wanted to marry itself to cool. And they did it.

My friend died recently. He was am amazing musician and guitarist and one of his favorite bands was Soundgarden. At his memorial i saw a video of him watching the music video at like 2 or 3 years old when this song first came out just glued to the TV. i will never forget it, its etched in my brain now.
