This excellent song was written by Artie Glenn for his son, Darrell, and was recorded by his band, The Rhythm Riders in 1953.

Now this was real music you could sing and dance to.........There is really nothing like these great 40's and 50's classics.

Beautiful song, clearly the best version. Elvis sang a great version, but it still does not compare to this one. :)

One of the pioneer doo-wop groups that influenced many.

I've heard somewhere that Elvis sang this song as close as possible to this version as a tribute. Sonny's influence on Elvis is obvious, the change of octave and insinuating sexuality are all there. Sonny is awesome!

This music doesn't get much better than this performance.

Beautiful song. I remember it well. We were married in a chapel. Couldn't be married in the main church as one of us was not Catholic.

Smooth harmony. Sonny was the King of the crooners in my opinion

You would be really surprised how many others did too Gloria. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers just to name a few of the bigger names. I probably could go on all day long. A lot of them used the old blues & jazz tunes when they were first starting out.
