About 20-40, but not all get taken on tour. Between them Thurston has had about 3 Jaguars and his rig now consists of 10-15 Jazzmaters and 1 Tele Deluxe copy. And lee has been through 5 Jaguars and has a rig full of all sorts of guitars, but mostly Jazzmasters. As for Kim, she's played quite a few Jaguars *seen playing one here* and has a rig mainly consisting of Jags and Jazzmasters. She might also add 1 or 2 random guitars in for tour as well, as does Thurston sometimes. Hope this info helped.

@blackenedshoegazer Loads, they where well known for hoarding Jazzmasters in particular back in the 80's when they were so unpopular they they sold for about $100 each.

@KentAllard But actually looking on wikipedia Sonic Youth was on the show December 1992. That's probably why he mumbled the year as he wasn't sure.
