Yes, in 2009 when he wrote the song it had nothing to do with gun control. As he said in a CNN 2010 Interview " It had to do with the trend in todays kids towards violence". Year later in 2014, he decided it was about gun control. In short, from Lennons "Imagine" to Gaga's "Born this way", no body really cares what an artist opinion is, or how he see's the world. But they seem to flock around them like some leader. Dear musicians.. I love your music, and I am actually going to see FTP tomorrow night at Winstar. But do me a favor - I like your songs, I could care less about your opinions. Be a good little bitch, keep making albums, and be the artist, not the politician. Want my money? Earn it.

Hey, don't get me wrong this is a good song but, this song is as fucked up as can get, you know what? Rap artists still get shit for cursing more frequently but this song gets played on the radio and my little sister is singing the horrifying words of a school shooting, id rather her repeatedly say "nigga" than sing this song.

Yea, he didn't really write this song did he? Just seems like he's not crediting somebody... I'm pretty sure this song was done by someone in the nineties, which that's cool to do an awesome cover/version of an old song but, should you not point out that fact instead of saying "I wrote that part about this" and so on.

It's a good and catchy pop song yes, but this guy thinks of himself as a Poet, one of the greatest..i'm sorry, but there are so many others who deserved it. there are artists and bands who had number 1 hits all over the world and dont talk like that. lol. anyway..live and let live...:)

I hated this song first time I heard then listened to it more and more kind caught me, all I knew was the chorus then looked up the lyrics was like holy shit, cuz to me reading something and paying more attention to what there saying helps me get a grasp on a song. Very powerful song. God forbid some messed up kid doesn't listen to this song and goes shooting up a school. while listening to this song.

what spoke to me about the song is how it was mocking our sick society of crapy public schools clicks and bullying and violence. violence today is portrayed as the cost of doing business and not as a real problem. thank you mark for making this song
