they weren't trying to BE nine inch nails, so i don't understand why trent fans are so critical of their cover. they're fans just like you who love this song enough to sing it in place of one of their own on tour. and i don't care what anyone says, flyleaf brought this song to life with passion.

@TheHevquip Yes, you may level whatever criticism you wish at a band, but your comment just didn't make sense. That was what I was replying to. I have no problem with people saying that they don't like the song; It's all just opinion, and the comments section is there for a reason. To reiterate, I took issue with the assumption that Flyleaf considered their version of the song any better than NIN's, I'm sure that if you asked them they would give full credit to the original.

This is okay, but... Flyleaf makes it sound a lot better, they put emotion in it, and the vocals aren't very scratchy, and here, NIN is making the instruments louder than the singer... and besides, Flyleaf plaing out pwns NIN :)

no way, sorry, this girl can't even hit her notes... plus the heavy riffs + her soft rendition of trent makes no sense. There is no feeling in her voice, she is just trying to mimic his. it's so noticeable it's embarrassing. I'm not a NIN fanboy, but come on.. talent vs. garbage, and your picking garbage? nice opinion haha.

Personally I like the flyleaf version better, Lacey puts emotion into the song, the NIN copy I have of the song sounds unemotional and scratchy vocals
