When people are in a angry mood, listening to angry music makes you feel good. The original song covers this emotion very well. When people associate such a powerful feeling with a song, it grows close to there heart. This variation however tones down the anger factor, and tones up the confusion, and desperation. These emotions were in the original as well, but it is a very different feel. Still, I love both. Personal taste I suppose. I wish they didn't change the lyrics, though slight.

I normally never get involved in these sorts of discussions, but I thought I'd throw my two cents in...I like this version of the song better than the original, not just because I love Andrew McMahon and everything he does, but because I heard it before I heard the original. I think people tend to like whatever is most familiar to them. Anyway, just thought I'd share my observations :)

Why bother commenting on a video if you're going to bitch about it? I listened to the other version, and I didn't find it near as good as this one. You can hear all the anger and emotion in his voice, it's sounds better to a slow beat. But that's my opinion. So whatever.

The thing that was great about the original was the fury, everything came at you at a million miles an hour, and the lead singer basically spat snarled all of his lyrics. This version is too mellow and soft, it's like somebody that's never been angry trying to describe anger.
