And that's how it's done. Nice video, too.

I came here as somehow I have the task to sing this song and wanted to hear a "masters" version. Thank you.

A friend (who'd made a try as an actor) excused himself at fine restaurant dinner w/ his girlfriend--to use the restroom. It was a 'set-up' with the restaurant's manager, and unknown to the other diners when the instrumental to this song came on the PA and he re-appeared singing this song to all in the dining room--as if he was the hired entertainer! The girlfriend was confounded! He finished by presenting her with a ring; she accepted.

Wonderful, although Brian Stokes Mitchell's version not bad either.

The magnificent voice of Ezio Pinza was not used in the 20thc. Fox movie which was a tragedy, no other recorded version comes anywhere close for vocal perfection.

Ezio Pinza starred in the stage version of "South Pacific." I actually saw it! Ezio had a remarkable voice. I enjoyed hearing the song again as only he could sing it. By the way I also enjoyed the version at Carnegie Hall as sung by Brian Stokes Mitchell. Thanks very much for the video! Great to hear Ezio again.

Heard Perry Como's version... First time hearing this. Simply amazing. Did Rogers and Hammerstein justice.

He certainly wasn't before my time and he had an unforgettable voice. This is one of those iconic songs no one was ever able to sing quite like Ezio.
