I was privileged to be able to see Solomon Burke at the Paramount Theatre-Oakland on the leg of his final tour before he passed away. It on November 21st, 2009.... He opened for Keb Mo and in my humble opinion stole the show. He took time to invite all the ladies in the audience to walk up to the stage and had his back up singers give each and every one a red long stemmed rose. The man had a stellar voice and major class to the end. A night I shall always remember.
