Variations on the drum would have made this much more dynamic. It overpowers a lot of the song where some vocals could shine & some low wobbles could push them through a bit more.

no. Chillstep IS dubstep. The music that most poeple call dubstep these days, for example Skrillex, isn't dubstep but brostep. a sub-genre of dubstep.
