Nice voice. Didnt like the arrangement, as someone else said it lacks those building strings, and lose the whooping at the end, totally unecessary. But not bad. I dont know anything about the lady, but ii would like to hear her doIng original stuff, She has talent; this is maybe not the right song to express it. I got the impression that she doesnt really understand what the song is about, so it means she is skimming the surface. A common fault with covers.

I don't think this song works with a modern r&b style of singing. Maybe if Billie Holiday did it jazz like it would. She doesn't convey the meaning of the words most of the time and it sounds slightly amateurish.

...IDK what all of you overly-critical pricks are talking about. She's killing it. First- its an absolute DUMMY move to compare a cover to an original. Think about it. What is a cover if not an exercise in self expression through the lense of an existing work by another artist that the performer admires, and would like to promote awareness of among their own admirers. The very act of covering a song (in the modern/pop- sense at least) is to call attention to the song, and the original performer(s) writer of the song and, pour one's own emotions/ creative life-force into, and through it .. simultaneously expressing a personal affinity with the content of the song- or perhaps even the original artist- AND humbly giving tribute/ nod/ paying respects to the song and artist alike. Therefore, in my EXCESSIVELY IMPASSIONED opinion, rendering ANY argument on 'which is better- The Cover, or the original?' UTTERLY meaningless, void of any substance what-so-ever, COMPLETELY undignified, and not worth engaging in for any amount of time in any way.... THAT being the case I will have to say that Compared to all the other hundreds of cover versions of this song I have heard, this one has to be one of my favorites. P.S. I understand it's impossible to pick up on subtleties like tone and facial-cues through the medium of you tube comment thread posting. So for those that have made it this far.. down into the dregs of my verbose dressing-down of +Jack Jackson and the like.. I didn't know lil sis was a Kate Bush fan! You go girl!It's not easy doing a Kate Bush cover. I've attempted and failed many times...lol. Kate's beautiful voice cannot be emulated.

You can't fault Solange's voice. This is a pretty good cover, but the arrangement doesn't feel quite right.

I was expecting to come here & hear her butcher a classic. I WAS TOTALLY WRONG!!! Solange, while not as good as Kate, did a nice job on this song. It's groovy to know that she's a fan of Kate Bush. Thumbs up from me. In fact, I liked it enough to share it on facebook.
