...and sorry, I don't jive with the whole adult notion of 'growing up' and kissing successful artists' asses simply because they are successful. Such things can be done with a little bit of integrity, rather than going the routes of Foo Fighters or Green Day.

Um, yeah, because being 'rock-radio-friendly' these days is quite different than how it was even 20 years ago and aiming to be safely likeable by the masses means that the music will, at best, be safely likable and devoid of novelty. Grohl is certainly a performing talent but his whole schtick is about pandering, fist-pumping, and moving as many units as humanly possible, quite a bit different than artists like Corgan or Kurt Cobain, who both followed their muses a bit more.

@kazoorocketman54 That's an awful lot of effort to put towards proving something that everybody probably knows already. Corgan's newest songs are certainly not the fresh and vibrant works of genius that he produced during his youth, but at least he's not being an insufferable stadium-whore along the lines of Dave Grohl or the members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. We should all be thankful for that.
