I'm so happy I started a journey into this genre and that all of the greats of the British shoegaze movement of the late 80's early 90's are back again. first MBV with a followup, then jesus and mary chain, Slowdive, and even Ride. Shoegaze spans so many cultures, from Britain, to America, to central and South America, even to Japan and China and I love it all, it's like walking through a dream.

This song is just a dream. Been a Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, Lush lover since early 90's in high school. Back when discovering new music was better than an opiate shot. Felt just as warm & dreamy. I truly hope to see them live in Columbus in Feb 2018. Surreal! This song, I mean, wow! Just feel like I'm floating. "Cuz I'm just floating. Your cigarette still burns. Your messed up world it thrills me" maybe these lyrics are close? Hey, don't be a music snob, I've listened to Loveless 1,000 times & still know 10 words.

A mediados de los 90 y por sorpresa los padres del shoegaze decidieron romper aquella banda que nos había dado tantas satisfacciones, con tan solo tres discos que editaron entre 1991 y 1995. Más de 25 años después de su debut regresan con tremenda inspiración y el hecho de que decidan llamar su nuevo disco "Slowdive" tiene necesariamente que significar algo. A la vista de sus nuevas canciones la verdad es que ahora llamar el álbum como el nombre del grupo es que quieren ofrecer la mejor versión de sí mismos, como demuestran maravillas tales como "Star roving", "Sugar for the pill" o "Don't know why" piezas por las que cualquier grupo indie mataría por apropiarse.Slowdive era una banda sorprendente que nunca alcanzó el gran éxito, todo lo más alcanzaron el top 40 con su primer álbum, les pilló el surgir del grunge y la aparición del Brit pop, así que de forma natural fluyeron hacia la desaparición, sin más tragedia. Por separado siguieron trabajando en la música: su líder Neil Halstead, formó Mojave 3 y editó tres discos en solitario; el batería Simon Scott publicó álbumes como "Navigare" y Rachel Goswell el año pasado editaba álbum como Minor Victories. Las peticiones para su reunión se hicieron persistentes hasta que han aceptado la propuesta. Todo un acierto ya que la reagrupación ha funcionado a la perfección, todo ha encajado a las mil maravillas: ruido y armonía, compás y loops encajan sin forzar ni un acorde. Uno de los mejores discos de 2017, tan emocionante que dan ganas de llorar.Música independiente novedades.

as a extreme metal head who got fed up of too much metal ( I only like black metal now) and I now listen to a lot of black gaze, I decided to try Slowdive. i personally felt that this band defines Shoegaze, though I am totally a noob to shoegaze, but as a music enthusiast who have reached his musical saturation to his particular favourite style of music, I am in love with shoegaze. I love it.This new album looks mature than the previous one. sounds also different and has the maturity every member has gone through in these years of disbandment. people hating it, I get you. i also hate many bands for not sounding the same. but I am not growing as a listener when I cling to nostalgia. accept changes in music just as you accept changes in your life. outcome will be satisfactory

Never really got Slowdive back in the day, I was a straight edge hardcore kid into violent mosh pits and stage diving, so the whole shoegaze thing kind of bypassed me a bit. However when Slowdive dropped this a few months ago it just knocked me out, a total goosebumps moment, and took me back to fabulous times in Newcastle and Leeds in the 90's. Love it.
