well this album made hip hop revert back to the 808 and straying away from lil wayne's pop sound to more grimmey / dirty south vibe with a faster tempo ... the only thing that seperatees this and neo hip hop-like asap rocky(2009-) is alexis vocals which were genius.

this is stuff done in the UK..tho..the whole vibe .. it was so new to americanss in 20009..thats why some ppl hated it(lamestreamers)..and some loved it..(the ones who got the point of the album of treats). Kanye west and jay-z(beyonces husband-beyonce who demanded the bells to work on her albuM).. borrowed from the TREATS album. it was so ahead of its time like tkaing us from 09 to 2013-2014. if you go to london...this is the whole vibe. they r more famous there than in america.

because...beach girls,ring ring, etc. where released as an EP/demo in 2009..when the group had no label. Then they got a huge massive buzz like no other band had before..and got signed to MIA's label. Derrek was doing Treats song..then gave it to MIA for her to release as MEDS AND FEDS in march before sleigh bells released their album in mid 2010. most artists do this tho in mixtapes .have a demo then re work it with a new beat and sometimes new title for the album
