I had vocal surgery a couple of years ago for a non-benign polyp. I couldn't talk for 8 days and couldn't sing for 8 weeks. It was torturous. I just hope you don't damage your voice. My entire surgical procedure and therapy wasn't the most fun.

I'm not an expert on the mechanics of "growling" so I'm just guessing that it would seem very hard on the vocal chords. It's not my cup of tea. But bring on some TOTO and Def Leppard. Sprinkle in some Bruce Hornsby, Elton John, and Joni Mitchell. Now you're barking up my tree.

The research is going great. I listened to an interview by the leader of Deicide and it wasquite disturbing from a Christian standpoint. Regarding the music, after a while, for me at least, it all begins to sound the same. I've even gone to sites that explain how to "growl". I've attempted it out of curiosity, but I have to be extremely careful because I had throat surgery last year for the removal of a benign vocal polyp. I don't how these guys will be able to talk in 20 years.

Interesting thoughts. I'm not so much into religion as I am into Christ Himself. I know it's seems hard to differentiate, but I don't see Christianity so much as a religion as I do a relationship. Denominations are facilitating the frustration of religion with their rigidity, dogma, and legalism. I'm fairly independent in my thought, but I must admit, I do attend a church that's a member of a mainline denomination.

Amen. I attend a church presently that is extremely frustrating, but I don't blame it on the Lord. I blame it on selfish people who are only concerned with their wants and needs. You don't have to attend church to be a great Christian. But having good, Christian fellowship can be encouraging in this crazy, screwed up world.

I agree about God but dont let your beliefs get the better of you. Blind faith is very dangerous. Think for yourself. Dont let religions think for you. Read the book of Enoch and learn about all religions. How they fit together and have been used to manipulate us throughout time. This music is just for fun for me btw.

No problem. Its not suprising to me(know your enemy lol). I meant that deicide thinks that satan is the real god. I am a follower of christ also. I dont support any goverment institutional religion/church cause they are corrupt though and what they teach and whats in the bible are two different things. I have read enough books on the subject to know jesus existed and theres evidence he performed miracles, i choose to believe hes the son of god.

I agree with your assessment of satanism. I wrote a research paper on satanism and found that most satanists believe less in satan and more in themselves. That being said, there are radical satanists who perform rituals ranging from the mundane, to the outright maniacal, but over all, it appears satanists want to live and let live. I believe God has a better life to offer and an eternity of bliss, but that's a topic for another conversation.

Wookie, thanks for at least being civil with your opinion. 1st of all, it's probably surprising that Christian would be on this site listening to Deicide. I'm here researching this type of music. It is interesting to me that most of Deicide's lyrics are not only anti-Christian, but anti-God. But I must disagree that Satan is the real god. He may be the real god to satanists, but only Jehovah God is the true God of this universe. Incidently, I'm more into pop/rock and contemporary worship music.
