Thing is... (And I'm a huge Slash fan), even he'd say he's no Hendrix. He's very humble. He'd have been chosen due to his humility and the fact that he's a very honest player and this can't be denied, he's composed some if the most memorable licks since Hendrix. He really captured people's imagination, attention, and excitement when "Appetite..." broke. Maybe the comparison is there because he's half African American. But don't call him a cunt because Hendrix's old pals asked him to jam.

Load of fucking shit, Hendrix would turn in his grave and be ashamed of such a poor cover of his song, that slash bloke should of been escorted out of the building and beaten up by security

slash is one of my all time favorites ..but sounds like any common track :D really Jimmi hendrix was the point behind the transformation of this track...if Jimi's score 10 this scores 4.5 as you will never try to repeat it :)..all my appreciation and love to you slash..but we both know that you were tremblling while covering this :)

Slash, as great as he is, knows he cannot come close to the brilliance of Jimi's right hand and thumb fretting a left -handed Stratocaster at full volume. Give him credit for trying.

@GuitarAriaFreak1010 That is what i am finding as i grow up too. Either people like pop or rap music that is mainstream and absolute shit, or metal with no soul or musical quality. I cannot find anyone who likes music with soul or a message or deep musical ability

@ACDCFan15Swe yes you're right lucky enough I have friends who play the guitar but most people are into metal or pop but never nice guitar music with soul... :(

@GuitarAriaFreak1010 I agree on that mtal thing, thats why I sometimes feel I lack someone in my life. All my best friends like metal and Im into rock 99% of the time and they dont appreciate soul and feeling as much as I do, it really sucks to not have someone to share your passion with except people you know through internet

@ACDCFan15Swe I know that is not about being as flashy as possible and I'm not saying it's a bad solo. It's just my opinion that slash has better solos. And your guess is wrong. In fact, I love when guitar players play with soul. I don't like those boring solo's without soul, which is, in my opinion with a lot of metal music and that sort of music.

you know what....I guess we look at people that have played with the 'greats ' & we think they must have been the best musos also, maybe Jimi just liked jamming with these guys & felt the groove( Slash excluded of course ), it was a bit loose ( i'm not saying i'm the tightest muso or the best ) but i like loose, it was a great performance & i love seeing guys from that era still rockin hard, I think this was fantastic & could anyone else alive taken Jimi's spot but Slash?

@GuitarAriaFreak1010 Dude, guitarplaying aint about being as flashy as possible. I think Slash realized that he had to play with as much feeling as he ever could if he ever should try to cover Hendrix, Slash had thr groove here and he rocked. I guess you dont appreciate when a guitarplayer have soul but I do
