I love SLADE.I still remember the year 1973, I was 15. The very first song I recorded on my tape recorder was : " Mama, we're all crazy now ".... Wow !!!!The tape recorder was a "Made in G.D.R." product . G.D.R. stands for German Democratic Republic or respectively East Germany. The item was not comparable with those from Japan /Toshiba , Sony, nor Western Germany`s "Blaupunkt".It was not cheap....620 East German Mark. For comparison and better understanding, please imagine this :850 East German Mark per month was the average income/salary.I was a student that time, so I just had the money which I got at Christmas, Birthday, Easter ....or pocket money from granny and grandpa. It took me 1 year to save the money for purchase...but finally I did it.You may imagine how happy I was once I got it.Well, from that time on I recorded my favorites on tape. From that time on Slade became one of my favorites, and so T.Rex , Sweet, Deep Purple, CCR, Bonnie Tyler , Queen ...unforgotten Freddy Mercury, Rolling Stones , and yeees - the three brothers from Down Under as well - The Bee Gees :-),and many others of the early 70ies and 80ies. But now to the writing , the headline of the songe here :Citation : ..." The Myzsterious Mizster Jones ..."Yes, I know, it is "Engliszcz" , lol.Kidding. But it really reads like Polish language .......No matter, pas de problem. What about this : "Le misterieuse Monsieur Jean " . Frenchor German : " Der misteriöse Herr HANS "Spanish : " El hombre misterioso - Juan ".This to let the world know - I am a kid of the 70ies and a funny chap, a jokger who loves kidding from time to time.I mean "kidding the friendly way ", not " hoax"Anybody else out there ? Best regards from Rainer, Central Germany.Have a nice season, spring and summer.Bye.ps : I beg your pardon for my bad poor English. It's not my native language. I'll improve it.

I got into slade when I was 9 years old iam now 50 and nothing comes close , still play it loud to try to educate todays kids though.SLADE are the best and dont get enough airplay either . Other oldies get repeated on the radio over and over but not slade , its a shame

Actually Gloria was origianly released in 1979 by Umberto Tozzi ( a version that I still need to look up ) & Myzsterious Mizster Jones was released in 1985. I finally couldn't take the mystery anymore & had to look it up, has been bugging me for years. But I still love both the songs

One of the catchiest Slade songs out there. Slade adopted the keyboard craze of the 80s perfectly. Not once do the band sound out of place in this period of music. Slade were certainly not just a glam rock band. Sadly, this single again flopped, despite being extremely catchy and well produced. Shame that RCA never really pushed the single as much as they could of.

@teddingtontcu Sir, I don t want to take too much of your time, I know you have issues with Slade....but I hope you can also take into consideration that a lot of bands "stole" fom Slade.....you suggested me Zep and Gentle Giant. Well, Zep I don t want to comment on, it does not appeal to me..... Gentle Giants are kind of interesting, but if you like "classic".... well, what to say about Pity the Mother, Find yourself a rainbow, Dapple Rose, Wondering Why, Kill em at the hot Club tonite........

@teddingtontcu Hey Sir, how are you? You are right to a very small extend, yes, this is not an original tune, just like Little Sheila is not original and maybe the chorus of O lala in L.A.. But are you sure you have listened do: Harmony, Roaring Silence, My o My Swing, My o My Piano and Vocals, Still the Same, Keep your hands off my Power Supply, Cheap n Nasty, High and Dry, C'est la Via, All join Hands, 7 year Bitch, Walking on Water I am just mentioning a few great "original" tracks here...
