NODDY GET BACK WITH THE LADS FOR ONE MORE TOUR

Radio Wall of Sound is the first song to be credited solely by Jim Lea since "I Won't Let it 'Appen Agen" almost 20 years earlier. It was also sung by Lea, with Noddy Holder joining with him in the chorus. The B-side, "Lay Your Love on the Line", was written by Dave Hill and former Wizzard member Bill Hunt. Although it was not Slade's last single, it was their last original hit, reaching #21 in the UK Singles Chart in November 1991

Dave Hill is legend. He always reminds of Scrappy Doo from Scooby Doo, a keen over enthusiastic puppy who has to be reined back :-D

This sounds great, if some new young rock band came on the scene with this tune critics would be going ape shit. I think slade were never taken seriously by the critics because they dressed daft and never took themselves seriously in interviews.

I saw em in 82 in Glasgow and there was large pieces of plaster falling from the ceiling into the stalls! They were a better band commercially during the seventies hey day but were a mean machine live by the early eighties. Miss em .

Their volume levels were awesome and with Nod hollerin over all the rest it was awesome. I used to see guys from Maiden in and even Lemmy who did say he had always wanted Motorhead to be loud like Slade.

You look at these four guys and listen to em here and there and on paper a band like this should not really be capable of blowing Heavy Metal bands away at Heavy Metal festivals but Live Slade were not at all wot they appear here. They really did make people go looney. I used to love goin to see em in the eighties as a lot of the SMASH HIT mob had come down front with their scarves like on Top of the Pops. Two numbers in and they would be in fear of the crowd surges and trying to get back out!

@Claust01 I disagree with you there Claus, as great as Slade were on record, they were one of the few bands that were BETTER live. : )

@skintrade if you look carefully tthere's a hole in the roof above the stage. The day of filming it rained heavily.

@steve01274 Jim Lea's not down for it and he said noddy will have to sing a key lower due to his age. If that is the case I personally wouldn't wanna see that. I can Deal with Robert Plant and Ian Gillan to an extent, but Noddy needs to be at full power to do this kinda band real justice. He's been out of it so long though that he may have enough in the pipes to do it one more time. I was 3 when they stopped touring in '84 so I'd be syked if they came back strong.

Man, Rock n Roll doesnt get any better than this! They proved that they still had something to give. One of life´s biggest mysteries is that they never got the recognition they so well deserved.
