Thats because it's not the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, its The american record sales hall of fame ,in so many ways ,just a joke, induction should be based on the levels of inspiration the bands gave generations of great artist, its sad people like Esquerita (the guy who Little Ritchards sound was inspired by)or Slade or Mott the Hoople have a snowballs chance in hell of being inducted ,its up to the fans to see these great artists will be remembered, and the artist who continue to be inspired by them

The intro to 14 plus 1.19 to 1.25 and 2.21 to the end..... Slade in their purest form. Brings a tear to the eye, it is just perfect.

@bigmagic96 It is sad though that "image" and "hype" etc. are too dominant factors. Slade are in a class of their own and with the number of truly great tracks in many genres and styles, hardly comparable with anyone. I listened to the Beatles White Album, and it reminds me a lot of the early B sides of Slade, what do you think? Runaways did a nice version of Mama weer.. and Cheap trick of When the lights is great. A well, nice to listen too...

@carlphone I've never really been interested in R&R HoF and you are very probably correct about the reasons. I've always considered Slade to be the ultimate anyway so why group them with lesser bands? Yes, even their Bsides would have been a very successful career for many bands but i've noticed not many bands do a good job covering their material. Didn't rate Q Riot or T Sister's efforts. Runaways did a good job and so did Cheap Trick but most others were off. Do like hearing them though.

@bigmagic96 You are right! It is inexpliccable why they are never listed in VH1 100 lists of Greates and not in the Hall of Fame. I suspect that these Rolling Stones lists etc. are made by Americans who only know Come on feel the noize, and Merry X mas, it is impossible they realize how supurb and diverse they were! 95% or more listed are just a fraction of what Slade were! Just Slade s B sides would have made great albums for every act listed or inducted in the Hall of fame! What do you think?

There aren't enough superlatives to adequately describe the quality of Slade's songs. This is a classic early 70s rocker featuring the definitive Slade ingredients: corridor stomping, maraca shaking - or is it snare drumming - soaring riffs, rumbling bass and beautiful backing vocals. Can you believe it's a Bside? Beautiful in the extreme!!! Long live The Glorious, Mighty, Wonderful, Slade!!

@carlphone Luuvved Slade when I was young(er!)...had loads of their stuff, including this, which was a B side as you say. Lost the 45's over the years, remembered the words in the song, but not the title. Went on a site yesterday, looked up the lyrics, found the title, put it on You Tube n bingo! But the only one! Can't believe you only just uploaded it, how mad is that!! Cheers, Dave

@rapiddave44 You are welcome, it is 'just' a B side, but A or B, almost everything by this band is brilliant. Man who speaks evil is a sort of similar song, I will upload it this week and some other things that are, weirdly enough, not on this channel. Thanks for the comment!
