Anybody notice like a soulful kinda rnb trend with bands like this, volumes, the contortionist, monuments, periphery, glass cloud, and then a noisecore beatdown nu metal trend with all the chicago bands, like villains and barriers, and darke complex (texas, i know still...) and sworn in. Am i the only one

Okay, this is an intricate song. Beautiful in parts but not as a whole. If anyone else finds this less engaging, do not judge the record by this. This was also the hardest to get a hang of. It took me a dozen odd listens maybe to state that that this composition borders on being a filler song but isn't only because there are certain stand out high moments. But there are enough choices interwoven into this song which made me feel even Dan could have delivered better vocal choices with staying power. Certain moments where the wander into dullness. This song is a bumpy ride. The deftones like quality in the the first 'rain down your soul' don't sound out of place. (a little out of place) but is rather a dull point. It straightforward but it is trying to be sort of a euphoric end to the first section but it just comes off as a musically dull moment. Then it picks up well. Another prominent dull moment was 'Back and forth..' trailing stretch of 1 minute. especially the 'waiting for love..' phrase - I don't get why they'd settle for it. Even Dans vocals as graceful as it sounds, the vocal choices over it was as dissapointing as the instrumentation. all in all it is the heavier sections on this song that I find uninspired and boring. Rest of it is pretty epic. I'm only ranting because, I can? (for all the preachers) but mostly because everything else i tried so far on this record ws freaking sweet, engaging, seductive, euphoric or whatever.

Always better to let these new songs sink in gradually. Skyharbor has always been true to their music so even though this album is milder but in no way is it short of amazing music.
