3 an 4 were still incredibly good, 1 and 2 are impossible to top in my opinion. Anyways, the characters were full of emotion and depth, 5 and 6 were complete shit.

I watched a LOT of interviews on Skins. I went through a phase where all I could watch was Skins, and without it I felt so empty. But since Season 7 is already available and you can see what Cassie is doing with her life, and Sid isn't with her if it helps confirm your question.

I prefer the first generation too, but I totally understand that they changed the cast. It would have been strange to continue with actors and actress that are no longer teenagers...juste like all the other series about teenagehood : actors too old to make a "reality feeling". If Skins want to stay real, they have to change the cast (sorry for my english)

the difference is skins cast was changed on purpose. Misfits people just randomly left and had to be replaced.
