The Belafonte Riddim is blatantly and proudly Caribbean, boasting groovy elements, traditional enough to make you want to form a conga line and current enough to motivate you to slap your hands on your hips and immediately start pelting waist.

The Belafonte Riddim is a musical tribute to that seeks to take us back to where Soca music began, to pay our respects to Calypso as one of the traditional art forms of Caribbean music. It aims to remind us of where we have come from and foster appreciation for our past and our journey into the future. The Riddim also serves as a tribute to a legend who took Caribbean music beyond the confines of tropical shores, across seas, onto the most prestigious of international stages and into the memories of millions of people of all different races. A man dubbed by the world as the "King of Calypso," Mr Harry Belafonte.

Currently, Caribbean music is once again making its presence known on the world stage, this time, pressed forward by many Calypso and Soca kings and queens, asserting our existence and at the same time, enticing the masses with sweet musical voodoo. A single drum signals the beginning of the Riddim but it is the bottle and spoon percussion that gives you the first real taste of the sweet Belafonte.

Fya Empress' strong vocals wake you up on the Belafonte 'Bam Bam', Destra Garcia teases but asks you to keep calm on Belafonte 'Normal,' Voice conjures up Belafonte 'Visions' and Skinny Fabulous shuts it all down with Belafonte 'Argument Done.'

The Belafonte Riddim is produced by Alex "Kubiyashi" Barnwell, known for his work with many international acts such as Major Lazer, Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin, Skinny Fabulous, Lyrikal and More!
