The good thing about Skillet is they're the type of Christian rock band that doesn't shove religion down your throat! That's what I love about Skillet!!

I'm a very passionate Athiest, but I am a huge fan of Skillet's music. The thing I love most about Skillet lyrically is the fact that they are so ambiguous with their pronouns. They avoid using the actual word "God" in their music, and that therefore means that anybody could relate to their songs, I mean, personally I find that I can relate to this song through the love of anyone who has helped me through a dark time. Their love in that moment stopped me from turning to drugs for help, and love did get me to a higher place.

Guys the song isn't about drugs, it's about God. It's a Christian band. "Your love is like wine" (IE: Holy Sacrament)"You're the strength of my life" Yes, it denounces drugs, but it more so states how instead of doing drugs, they turn to religion.I find it slightly pathetic that no one on Youtube bothered to actually listen to the lyrics past "drugs." Learn to dig deeper into the meaning of songs before going on rants about drugs.

Because YouTube won't let me reply to comments, I am just going to say this. Yes, drugs may help people feel better, and some are natural, but I do not think that that is what they mean by this song. I think that Skillet is trying to say that you do not need drugs to be happy or cool and that there are better ways to actually be happy and cool without having to do drugs. I find, I know lots of people that can say this themselves, that drugs do not really make you happy or cool, but they put on a mask for you that lasts for a little while but after they wear off, you have no idea why you feel bad.
