Ernest Tubb helped me to become an entertainer in so many ways. He was my first tutor.

Skeeter Davis 1965

WALKING THE FLOOR OVER YOU

(Ernest Tubb)1941

You left me and you went away

You said that you'd be back in just a day

You've broken your promise and you left me here alone

I don't know why you did dear but I do know that you're gone

I'm walking the floor over you I can't sleep a wink that is true

I'm hoping and I'm praying as my heart breaks right in two

Walking the floor over you

[ guitar ]

Now someday you may be lonesome too

Walking the floor is good for you

Just keep right on a walking and it won't hurt your pride

Remember that I loved you and I will to the day I die

I'm walking the floor over you...

Walking walking

I don't get the "Psychedelic" thing. I dig the groove but it sounds like she sang both parts of a duet. I think of psychedelic as like the Electric Prunes or Love or cats like that. She did E. T.s song good " Davis sisters" style.

I like it, It's different but Ernest did it better. You can't beat the original. But she did very nice. Ginger

There you go, folks. Proof that Skeeter--not Zappa & The Mothers, The Byrds, The Pink Floyd, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Velvet Underground, etc.--invented psychedelic music!
