I vividly remember watching this performance in November (or early December) 1990, as a wee one. I was really excited, as i had adored Sinéad and her music, from when i first heard her songs { played on Annie Nightingale's sunday evening show, radio1 }, in 1987. I did not get the Lion and Cobra [ one of my first ever cds ] til two years later, in 1989. But i identified with all songs on the record. This is a bit peculiar to me now, because i had had no real life experience. Even more, I identified with Sinéad's voice, how she used it. So everything lead to that point... Of course, i had seen the videoclips to 'Mandinka', 'Nothing Compares 2 U' [ played on MTV, all time that whole year... ] and 'the Emperor's New Clothes' — but I just wanted to see her perform, on stage. ..

Which is what was done in the writing of the movie, "Marnie", with Sinead, the composer concentrated on getting back up on the feet, With Kate Bush, the lunacy, the confusion. with Kate Nash, the going back to childhood and Mariella whose "lips were sealed" at the age of 4 but, again, a reflection into "Caroline's" head as the character dresses to conceal what is underneath

There was a duel voice. Sinead's songs was not always to be taken figuratively. Sin had song under other names but the characters had been cut off (in death) by reporters. Sin plays with multiople personas the same as Kate Nash, another ultra persona and Kate Bush (also Kate Nash uses a deck of 52 personas). Sin's songs were composed after a major breakdown and one can see the difficulty in singing with "Argentina". Sin is important as this was the first persona to get back up on the feet, rite? Some songs, like, "The River's of Babylon" were not completely composed but the focus was to get back up.
