This song is a B-side of the single "I travel" and it is in the first best of Simple Minds "Celebration".

Lyric:

See.

What so you see?

Tell us the things,

That circulate round you.

Scars,

Deep as an ocean.

I've got some things,

I'd like to show you.

Friends of mine,

Who ask to stay,

Well you can turn around,

And walk.

All things lie in hope,

Focusing through,

Your human kaleidoscope.

One man has a dream,

Tells it to me,

And I call it fiction.

Friends of mine,

Who ask to stay,

Well they can turn around,

And walk,

Walk, walk,

Walk away.

Chimes,

Rhythms to me.

Someone else waits,

Behind the curtain.

Image,

Leave them to me.

Destructive virgin,

Behind the curtain.

Friends of mine,

Who ask to stay,

You can turn around and,

Walk, walk walk,

Walk, walk walk away.

Walk, walk,

Walk, away.

Walk, walk,

Walk, away.

Walk.

Walk, away.

Walk, walk, away.

Away, away, away.

I love magazine and early simple minds. They toured together I think? Certainly Simple minds supported them once.

It sounds somewhat like a Gothed-up Magazine. I mean that in the most complimentary way possible.

This also appeared as the closing track on the album Celebration (a sort of compilation of early stuff). Brilliant track! Sorry but Robert Smith never wrote a better song!

Yes, this is almost a carbon copy of early Magazine songs. Still, very good.

love it, it reminds me a bit of magazine's excellent debut album... this, and calling your name should have been on the (nevertheless still brilliant) 'early gold' album.

God I love this track. It is one of those brilliant little treasures of Simple Minds. From the Piano to the vocals and the wowwy effects to the guitaring. Superb.

I remember when I bought this single. My expectations where - to say the least - high after the fantastic 'Reel to real...' album. These two single tracks were ok but 'Empires..' was in all a disappointment. Lyckily, next album was far better.
