A city drenching me in sin.

Atop these buildings we’re both sinking

As we swim in our continual condition.

You found a way inside my head and left me hanging by a thread. Gutted out, replaying every line you said,

And thinking why can’t I just forget it and why can’t I live without you. I wish I held my ground or I could just go back

And disappear from you.

I let you in you stole a piece of me

And now I can’t take it back from you again.

You carved my body from the inside out.

Never hesitated.

Left me on the boulevard here to bleed.

Your eyes had pureness cutting through.

You had me breaking my own rules, assuring me it’s okay,

This is different, you know we’re different.

I’m such a mess I’ve tried and tried to unlearn your spell,

Uncross the line maintain my confidence outside

But this pain it won’t escape me.

A city drenching me in sin.

Below these buildings I’m still sinking

As I swim in my continual condition.

I’m off the beaten path, smashing every light I pass.

I’m so far away, and the darkness makes me need you.

Not sure exactly what direction you guys were headed for, but it's starting to seem like you guys are going the generic post hardcore route. Songs are full of chugs (a few sounding original) and ridiculously cliche lyrics. Could be from influence of the label, though. Again, not really sure. I dug most of 'This is how the Wind Shifts,' but am a true fan of the records before. I'd like to see more albums resembling those, than music that's already been out for the past few years.

What does everyone think of the album overall? IMO it's a solid album with a majority of really good songs.

This song basically sums me up right now. Silverstein's music has always been the soundtrack to my life. It's like they've been inside of me and know exactly how I feel, which is one of the reasons they will always be my favorite. They may never see this, but I want them to know how much I love and appreciate them. You guys have helped me through some of the roughest times of my life, and for that I will always be grateful.

That riff reminds me of R U mine by Arctic Monkeys

This is rather unmemorable. I'm not impressed with the melodies on this record for the most part.

"You know we're different." Such a great throwback, this album is full of them, in everything, from vocals to guitar.

I must say, this album has to be on my top three for the band. I'm torn between DTW and WBIEF along with it. Either way, too good.

I like the new Silverstein sound! They are playing out of their comfort zone which shows their wide range of talent.
