I don't know how anyone could crap on this. Just a laid back, then vocally interesting performance. Sounds great for a probably hastily put together live show.

He is not 20 anymore. The artist has the right to change the style.Maybe he got tired of heavy distortion guitars, screaming vocals all the time.I do not believe he's doing it for the money. Because...otherwise, he does not change the style. He still playing the same music / style. He has guts to chance the style.

"I loved Silverchair then and I love them now... but Paul Mac is not Silverchair. Talk about a free ride. Because I hold Mac personably responsible for shifting Silverchair's music in the direction it went. If you wan't to add strings and piano... thats fine, but ever since Johns started colaborating with Mac... they've been writing music that... is interesting, but sounds like an Umpa Lumpa bit from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."I totally agree with you. Silverchair won their fans with songs about social injustice and opression, songs with dark riffs based on punk/grunge/metal. But if you listen the very first album (the 4 songs of Tomorrow album) and compare with the last one (Young modern), you can't recognize them as the same band. The last one sounds like a gay disco party. There's nothing wrong with a gay disco party, but it's not suppose to be the very same audience of post-grunge/metal songs. It's possible that Paul Mac was not responsible for this, it's possible that they just won't to sing the same things over and over again, it's possible that Daniel Johns has not depressed anymore and this reflects on their songs (dammit anti-depression drugs), but I will blame Paul Mac too. At very least he has some role on this tragic change.
