I am going to propose something possibly preposterous and do realise that I am a fan, but I don't think that Shocking Blue was as good live as in the studio. Mariska's voice is absolutely amazing as are Van Leeuwen's song writing skills, but with some bands the stage-craft doesn't come together. Scorpio's Dance -their classic 2nd album- partly recorded in NYC, never made a dent in the charts. So there's your answer. Still think Blue is better than Jefferson Airplane...12 years ago
