For some reason, Shelby never released this on CD, which is why you're seeing this rarity for the first time.

Shelby did an awesome performance on this Mel Carter classic from the sixties. That powerful voice of hers was perfect for this song.

An overly-commercialized Shelby Lynne. Way to go, Nashville! Thank God it's a thing of the past...did you ever consider what SHE wanted?

Mel's is one of my all time favorites, but this one is right there.

Just heard Gloria Estaphan's (sorry for the spelling of her last name) but this is so much better. Still like Mel Carter's but this will be second. Good looks, super voice and nice back-up singers. 2 thumbs up.

Great version. Those two backup singers really add to the emotion of the song in just the right places.

@bootseybuddy And on top of all that...there isn't even a video of Elvis covering this song! So...do you want to make a fool of yourself some more? Feel free. I am having a ball playing with you. :)

@bootseybuddy Btw I have not a clue regarding Shelby's sales numbers. This is not what I base my opinion of music on. That was my point regarding sales numbers!

@bootseybuddy and dear, again...stating Elvis' accomplishments as a response to a discussion of Shelby Lynne v. Gloria Estefan is as sure a sign of obsession as is your repeating those sales numbers from almost 50 years ago in every comment you post. So far the only one you have made a fool of is yourself I am afraid. :( Defending a guy not under discussion. All I expressed was praise when you dragged him into it completely out of the blue. No need to get your panties in a bunch.

@bootseybuddy And sorry to disappoint you Boots but you are not royalty! "we are waiting"? Nobody but you is waiting for that explanation as I gave it already in my initial response. I simply said that these days there is little correlation between singing ability and record sales. And since we are talking these days...pretty sure Elvis wouldn't sell as well if he came into the business now. Not unless he wore a meat dress ( or in his case peanutbutter/banana sandwich dress)

@bootseybuddy Oh dear, couldn't get a translater then? Your dragging Elvis into a conversation on two female interpreters of this tune is what that "what the hell" was referring to. I was just wondering why bring up Elvis? Of course I , at that point, did not yet realize am dealing with a person who probably mentions Elvis and his sales numbers when the waitress asks if you want milk in your coffee.

@reddragonready Your aggression," what the HELL am I talking about " was "incredibly misplaced." Truthfully stating ELVIS' accomplishments , which are unsurpassed in the WORLD , and SHELBY's lack thereof, does NOT translate to an "obsession" with ELVIS . We are waitng for your explanation as to why ELVIS has sold approx. 2 BILLION records and SHELBY has sold how many ? I made a FOOL of you twice- wanna make it three times ?

@bootseybuddy Oh, and please stop shouting!

@bootseybuddy Dear boots, your aggression is incredibly misplaced. I am sorry your English comprehension is not up to my writing ability. :( Maybe someone can "translate" what I actually said for you? :Someone who isn't obsessed with Elvis Presley to the point where it seems they perceive criticism where there is compliment. Have a nice day now :)

@reddragonready You're IGNORANT . I agreed with you and you still BITCH !!!! You say nobody mentioned ELVIS , then proceed to AGREE with me that he "touched people ." That's what the HELL I'm talking about !!!! If the # of HITS and RECORDS SOLD has NO correlation to singing , then explain how ELVIS has sold about 2 BILLION records !!!! It's ABSURD to say SHELBY " would have sold 2 BILLION as well." ELVIS is in 4 Music Genre Hall of FAMES - nobody else !!!

@bootseybuddy Whatthe hell are you talking about? Nobody mentioned Elvis. It's a shame and a mystery why Cardiff removed her comments but the discussion was about Shelby Lynne's singing of this song ( and generally) v. Gloria Estefan. Elvis was not mentioned. Personally I agree Elvis touched people AND he happened to be a great singer. The amount of hits and records sold unfortunately often has no correlation to singing abilities.:( Or Shelby would be selling 2 billion as well. ;)
