When I was like  13 or 14 years old in the early 70's this was the first song I heard on a new "oldies" station, the first of its kind, from Madison, Wis.  I heard maybe the last 30 to 40 seconds of it and I thought it was the prettiest thing I had ever heard.  It took me years to confirm the name of the song was Angel on My Shoulder as the lyrics suggested.  After a few more years I somehow remembered the name Shelby Flynn or Flint.  The search was not, but I could not find this recording until the internet came along.  Here it is, and I think it is just as pretty.  I could listen to it forever, what a treasure.  I'm glad to hear Shelby is still around and singing.  I'd have been a few months old when she released this!!!!!  Oh, and I was hooked on these so called oldies ever since.

One of the truly beautiful songs from my childhood, one I learned when I first started getting serious about the guitar. (1962 or so) Sing it with my grandchildren from time to time. Reeeaaaalllllyyy good music lives beyond us all.

heard this when I was a kid going thru my mom's old 45's (anybody remember those - lol). can remember how beautiful I thought her voice was. finding this song now on youtube not only brings back wonderful memories of childhood but also of my mom who I lost way too soon as a kid. thanks for posting!

This song is one of my favortites. She indeed has the voice of an angel. In 1981, the LDS Church produced a 2 minute spot called "Julie Through the Glass" written and sung by Carly Simon. However, for the spot, they had Shelby Flint sing it. The video is a classic, and Shelby adds so much feeling to it. Find it on You Tube too.
