Single aus dem neuen Album "Honeydew"

Old Ms. Johnston lived all alone

on the sorry side of town

Broke down cars and burglar bars

on the windows and doors

In case danger comes around

sitting in her yellow kitchen

listening to bad news on her A.M. radio

Used to be Louis Armstrong

then Martin Luther King

Where did everybody go?

Out the window where her garden was

It's not safe to go outside

Old Ms. Johnston in the eye of the storm

It was the safest place to hide

Yeah life's a gamble for the broken and the weak

dealing with the bangers and drugs

the winos weave and amble

and shuffle on down the street

steering clear of all the thugs

Now my city hangs her head in shame

Can't tell the truth from all the lies

everything changed forever

and everything stayed the same

On the night Ms. Johnston died

Hempower Utah is holding a candle-light vigil Aug. 4, 2013 At the Utah State Capitol.. Ms. Johnston will be one of a few specifically memorialized. I wish Mr. Mullins could make it. Fat chance, I know.

Poor Ms.Johnston...just wanted to die in peace...oh the irony, that she wanted to protect herself from the thugs, but it was the city's cops that murder her that night.

@scottymacIII Yes, "Nameless Faces" is the name of the song. It's from the Honeydew album (the same album that this song is from).

Either everybody here is too young to remember or you have horrible memories... This guy is the same guy that released "Lullaby" a long time ago (15 years?). He definitely seems to have grown a lot as an artist.

Great song, sad story, I had to google the name to get the references. May be my new favorite artist.

@saludahead Hope you got the c.d's! I'm a big fan too. Normaly I'm a metalhead. But Shawn is by far the best songwriter I ever heard.

This is the first I've heard of Shawn Mullins. I see great things ahead. This country needs more people who have the stones to write songs like this, and record them. I'm going out to the nearest record store, and buying everything this guy has done. if we all do, this story won't go away!
