James Taylor came straight out of the can ready to eat. But Shawn, like a truffel took years to find and mature and despite all the obstacles interior and exterior defied the odds and was discovered unpolished and displayed for us to enjoy. A true musical diamond. I have just finished the book and is a very uncomfortable read but worth it as the çyptic nature of the songs unravel. My impression is Shawn is a tormented prickly musical genius that you tangle with at your peril.I already play her songs but would take the risk for just one guitar lesson. Hope your future is full of good things and sorry to hear your dad is poorly.

This video reminds me of the attention blindness psychology experiments, they talked about on the show Brain Games. They did experiments where they'd distract people or give them a task to perform and then see if they noticed something weird in the background during it, like someone in a gorilla suit walking by, or that the other person changed their shirt, for example. It'd be funny if someone did a music video where they actually did something like that.

Dimes to doughnuts that is daughter Callie starting the parade! Seems like only yesterday a VERY pregnant Shawn was accepting her Grammy for "Sunny Came Home" when she was interrupted by some rapper-type (ZHEESH! WHATEV!!)....STILL laugh out loud when she half-sings, half-says, "I got a Big Book/and antidepressants"! I know about that all TOO well!

When I saw her last night in San Francisco, she said her daughter is 14 now. So is the first clapping girl in this video Shawn's daughter? Seems likely! Shawn is a phenomenal guitaring, songwriter, singer and performer. So beautiful to hear her live.
