Sharp radios were always loud but along came the cheaper hitachi 3d superwoofer and then you had quality bass to the mix.I used to spend so much money on the batteries back then but it's good to look back at these boomboxes with all the nostalgia associated with them.

I play my MP3 player using a Sony cassette adaptor in the Sharp GF777Z tape deck sounds so much better than using the AUX Line In goes very loud indeed with sum nice bass!!!

It's pretty nice boxes, I really love that sharp, so cool looking. But JVC RC-M90, the version with shortwave radio, is my absolute fave.

The '98 JVC RV-B90 kaboom blows away all these 80s boomboxes by a long shot. especially the hard hitting bass. i use to own the Conion C-100F which i bought new back in '84. Big and loud and flashy but the bass technology was lacking. Great looking pair of collector items you have there, take good care of them.

Guy is sellin the conion for 200 $ alarm works. Stereo sounds amazing but tape decks don't work. The box looks brand new. I wonder if I should buy ?

The problem when you start calling anything "The holy grail" is that it automatically pushes the price up. The GF 777 is a good boom box but if you look on ebay there are plenty to be had abeit because of the hype at £700 to £900.

I was able to get my hands on a Sharp GF-767 mint condition. It sat some where in someones closet for over 30 years forgotten. Not a scratch on it. They sold it to me for 585  from ebay. The GF777 is listed on ebay fore as high as 2699.I think I made out on a good deal.

I own both of them and a Rotel rpm-10 a super rare boombox  in my collection.also both units are great in there own DNA but for me the sharp is a crisp clearer sounding unit also a way better build quality  SHARP-777 all the way  i remember when the 200$ conion first came on the market 1983/84 it was said to be a BATTERY KILLER and cheep name brand radio. also this is the time frame that JVC, and the TASHIBA WX-1 boomboxes were king of the road FOR THE SIZE and quality and sound!!  so the  conion with all the light shows          BATTERY KILLER stood no chance against the  big size boomboxes with the cheep name brand and cheep build quality so the conion was NOT  a good selling boombox THE RED DISCO LIGHT SHOW (BATTERY KILLER) but the sharp gf-777 was the champion of the (BIG BOY SIZE)  boomboxes in them days i know all this very well. I am 45 yrs old and i bin there in the boom box crave era 80s and also a collector of boomboxes .
