Sharon Tandy - Fool on the hill 1968

Original by The Beatles 1967

Day after day, alone on a hill,

The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still.

But nobody wants to know him,

They can see that he's just a fool.

And he never gives an answer

But the fool on the hill,

Sees the sun going down.

And the eyes in his head,

See the world spinning around.

Well on the way, head in a cloud,

The man of a thousand voices, talking perfectly loud.

But nobody ever hears him,

Or the sound he appears to make.

And he never seems to notice

But the fool on the hill,

Sees the sun going down.

And the eyes in his head,

See the world spinning around.

(Instrumental)

And nobody seems to like him,

They can tell what he wants to do.

He never shows his feelings,

But the fool on the hill,

Sees the sun going down.

And the eyes in his head,

See the world spinning around.

He never listened to them

he knows that there's a fool

They don't like him

The fool on the hill,

Sees the sun going down.

And the eyes in his head,

See the world spinning around.

...that captures the mood of the original. In a way, it's the most humble. Vaughan, Bassey, Petula, the Brazilian group, they are all great, but there's something missing.

I only got to know this Beatles original today. By browsing the plethora of covers I find this to be the one hat

@puakenikeni2011 Not funny and isn't the way it works. Indicative of the ignorance (lack of knowledge) most people have on the subject.

@5000AV dude I have! Ive listend to most of her albums, though I must admit that daughter of the sun was a kick ass song! I think I just perfer her doing her own songs and not covering others. You think she's up there with julie driscoll and erma franklyn??? no way!! julie and erma are in a league of their own!! Have you heard behind the scenes takes in the recording studio??

oh my lord!! this video made me realized that sharon tandy is not a well-rounded singer. She has a really nice voice but can not sing very good. She cant hold notes for prolonged periods of time. She's not a singer like say emma franklin, julie driscoll, mariska veres, or annisette Hansen! shes like the brittney spears of the 60; appealing voice but no skill or range.
