If it was Macedonian it would have be speaking Greek ... If you refer to Skopje they speak Bulgarian dialect there. get your facts straight... they should be called Minor Bulgaria... they are Slavs... no Greek/Hellenic heritage in them...

Im ersten greifst du die Deutschen in ihrer Gesamtheit an, im zweiten beleidigst du die Ostdeutschen. Du traust dich doch nur hier diese Pauschalisierungen zu äußern, weil du hier anonym bleiben kannst. Überleg dir genau was du schreibst. Hier nennt dich schließlich auch keiner "italienisches Nazischwein."

Possibly, but that does not change the fact that it would simply be Turkish music he refers to, since I very strongly doubt that every region of the Ottoman empire (which also occupied different territories at different times) had one particular style of music. Just like France, for example, also once belonged to the Roman empire. But always had different music than Italy has had. I get your point though ;)

What OsmanOsmanHan means is that the Ottoman Empire spread this sort of music and that that is why it sounds so familiar to people who come from regions the Ottoman Empire once ruled. Shantels music reminds me of a number of countries including Greece, Turkey, Macedonia, Montenegro among others.

It's balkan style music, but Shantel is from Germany.

Listen, this song has nothing to do with Algeria. I am pretty sure it's Hungarian or Macedonian.

You think an algerian song would have come to Balkan without ottomans?
