i forgot to add ...... the teddy boys (a.k.a. Teds!) use to hang around street corners by holding up the building corners. Holding up the corners, they called it.most of them carried knives in a pouch and made sure everyone saw it. then that practise was outlawed. but there is nodifference with today's hooligans and the hooligans of fifty years ago. or even with the hooligans of five hundred years ago. we have always had lower class RIFF RAFF with us... and still will in another five hundred years. wanna bet?it is like having afternoon tea .... or having a piss ... a fact of life.

in the pre-beatle early sixties era, there were LOADS of shakies hanging around street corners all over the anglocelt isles. lounging, we called it. people like shaky were referred to as common as muck or lower class teddy boys. there were the fore runners of the mods. some people called both the mods and rockers. others, usually middle aged parents, called them Rods and mockers!! but the early sixties hairstyle for teddy boys was not long hair as shown here by shakie. they had the short, back and sides (the d.a. haircut!!- duck's arse hairdo!). by the end of 1963, every lower class boy - and middle/upper class boy - was now adopting the long hair beatle fringe over his forehead. in england,d it was called the public school hairstyle and had been so for several decades. in u.s.a., president kennedy's son, john junior, was a tiny, tiny tot and he, too, had this public school hairstyle. am i boring you? sorry. I am now 67 and was once, er, young!!

Nobody spent as much time as Shaky in the British Top 40 singles chart in the 1980's. But you will NEVER hear any of his songs on the radio shows/stations that play 80's music. Not even if you request them. It's a disgrace that he's being airbrushed from history. He had tons of hits, sold millions of records, and still has a massive amount of fans.
