Everytime I listen to this version of "Shake", it tickles me. Diana's voice is too adorable here. Obviously, I favor the Sam Cooke version over this one but the Supremes take on it is sugary cute. ♥

I like Ike & Tina Turner's live version on the SHINDIG show back in like 1964 i think

I think the Supremes did a nice job on this cover BUT NO WAY IS THEIR COVER BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL...HOW CAN ANY1 COMPARE THE 2 VERSIONS...and I am not taking anything away from The Supremes, obviously they are a legendary group paying tribute to one of the all time greats...MR. SOUL HIMSELF

@MarvelettesDude You can't be serious! Sam smashes this into oblivion sorry! That's my opinion!

@RedRoosterRoad Go-go dancing was popular from the middle 1960s onwards. To see what it looks like, search for other YouTube videos that show it. It is, I believe, the best style of dancing ever invented. Some people might disagree, but what do they know?

I'd still like to hear Florence Ballard sing lead on this one...

I think it's funny in the RSG "live" version, how the cameras go to closeups many many times of the Supremes' bugle-bead-clad butts... (Gotta love 60s UK TV.)

"Ding-a-ling-a-ling - honey, shakin' is the latest thing!" A few years ago, some coworkers and I performed a frantic go-go dance routine to this song as part of a program we did at work. Needless to say, we were praised for our performance.

This version of "Shake" is nice, but the best version is the one from "The Supremes At The Copa". Check it out!
