Back in 2002 or 2003, my band played a show in Central Wisconsin at some small venue in a really small town. These small Wisconsin shows were always awesome. Lots of people showed up and the bands always kicked ass. Anyways, at this particular show, some band played and I was talking to them afterwards and I think 2 or 3 of the band members were former Smakdab members. I forget the name of the band now, but I remember they had a cool sound.

Holy crap! Thank you for bringing back memories of this band! I remember hearing about Smakdab from Dizzy Draztik (The Rejects) and having a crush on Ryan Emerson, drummer for Smakdab. I see Eric in the comments and been wondering how everyone has been!

Slipknot had done some demos at Junior's Motel in Otho, IA. Kevin Miles, the sound guy @ they Safari Club/Hairy Mary's, suggested Smakdab do a record there. Miles recorded/produced the album, and Joey J. did some production as well. Slipknot signed with Roadrunner soon after the Smakdab record was done, and Corey and Joey requested they not be credited because Roadrunner would have to have approval. Alexis also recorded on the Deadfront track Erase Me.

i think that this was recorded in 1999 and it was on a smakdab album. i don't recall but i don't think that corey taylor was credited on it. shit this brings back some memories and that band was fucking bad ass!
