The blackouts just sound like crap

I wish he laid off the pre on his amp. The excessive saturation makes it difficult to tell the difference in the distortion/output of the pickup. Still thanks for the vid

I think this video comes to prove that the difference in all of Seymour's hum buckers is so subtle that you shouldn't trip yourself out over it cause it's really not gonna make or break you record. Think I'll just keep my EMG's honestly. Ftw

I dont know what pickups to get!!! someone give me some advice haha. I have been playing for about 10 years and know what I am doing playing wise, but i always have trouble choosing a guitar/pickup that can do everything. Currently I have a ibanez RGT mahogany body and maple neck/fretboard, looking for some duncans that can go from jazz to new modern metal. Amp is a jvm 210h.

can anybody help me out? i'm looking for a seven string set and play stuff like lamb of god and devildriver. I have an ibanez rg7421, what would be a good pickup choice?

I got curious and checked out the tone chart listed on Seymour Duncan's website. If anyone's interested, here's how a bunch of their pickups are supposedly EQ'ed:(Bass/Mid/Treble)Nazgul - 5/9/8Pegasus - 5/7/6Black Winter - 6/6/6 (lol)Blackouts - 6/5/8Full Shred - 4/4/8Distortion - 5/8/9JB - 5/6/8Invader - 7/8/4

This video comes to prove that if you have the best gear in the world. It won't matter if you have shitty playing. It won't cover up your lack of skills.Way to fuck up the sound of these amazing pickups.Had no idea that was possible. With a shitty guitar player, playing downtuned guitars with ugly sounding distortion helped ruined it.

Do all of these pickups also work for Neck pickup area?

I'm completely stuck choosing a new bridge pickup. My current choices are the JB, Invader, Nazgul, or the Pegasus. I play everything from A7X to Kieth Merrow to Rings of Saturn. Somebody help meh

I feel like some of the pickups needed height adjustment cause honestly these all sound awesome from a person who's used them and some of these sound like there too far away from the strings and the blackout too close. I personally favour the 59/custom because I'm a really hard picker, it let's me control the gain using only my picking hand.

Custom SH14 is very impressive : precise and tight, with an amazing crunch.I still don't understand why some axes sound better with active, and some others not.Wood ? Tuning ?... whatever, in this test, Blackouts are worst, with recessed mids ;D

Nazgul,i also love the Duncan Distortion.Hell give me all them,i'll find a purpose for them..lol

The change is very subtle, but it's more noticeable in the low end and lo-mids. At least from what I can hear, they do sound really similar.

Ola... Nazgul or Pegasus in a Swamp Ash body? Don't want it overly bright and want to be able to chug with clarity. Can't decide between the two, sounds like the Nazgul has better chug factor, so would you say it would be a good balance for the Swamp Ash then?

I have a seven string with a Nazgul. It fucking kills. I`m looking to put a Distortion on one of my 6 strings.
